Privacy Policy
SMR Portal (by SmartRestro) • Last updated: 12 June 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how SMR Portal (“the app”, “we”, “us”), provided by SmartRestro, collects, uses, and protects information when restaurant owners and delivery riders use the app. By using SMR Portal, you agree to this policy.
1. Information we collect
Account information
- Restaurant owners: name, restaurant name, phone number, and login credentials (PIN/password).
- Riders: name, phone number, and a PIN, provided when joining via an invite code.
Location information
When a rider is actively on duty, the app uses the device's GPS to measure the distance travelled. This is foreground location only — collected while the rider has started a duty in the app. We do not track location in the background, and we do not track riders when they are off duty.
Usage & device information
- Duty start/stop times, calculated distance, and pay totals.
- A device identifier used to enforce one-device-per-rider login and detect account sharing.
- Basic technical data (app version, crash logs) to keep the app reliable.
2. How we use information
- To calculate on-duty distance and automatically compute rider pay based on the rules each restaurant sets.
- To show owners a live dashboard of active riders, duties, distance, and payouts.
- To detect fraud, such as impossible speeds or GPS jumps.
- To secure accounts (single-device login) and send relevant notifications.
- To operate, maintain, and improve the app.
3. How location is handled
Distance is calculated on the device from GPS points, with anti-drift filtering to avoid phantom kilometres. We do not sell location data, and we do not use it for advertising. Location is only used for the rider-tracking and pay features described above.
4. Data sharing
We do not sell your personal data. A rider's on-duty data (distance, duty time, pay) is visible to the restaurant they have joined. We may share data only:
- With trusted service providers (e.g. secure cloud hosting) who process data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations.
- If required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users.
5. Data retention
We keep account and duty/pay records for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the service and meet legal or accounting requirements. You may request deletion of your account and associated data (see “Your rights”).
6. Security
Pay totals and duty records are stored server-side and are tamper-proof. We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to safeguard your information.
7. Your rights
You can request to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or ask questions about this policy, by contacting us at hello@smartrestro.pro. Riders can also stop sharing location at any time by going off duty or uninstalling the app.
8. Children
SMR Portal is intended for restaurant owners and working delivery riders. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
9. Permissions we request
- Location (foreground): to measure on-duty distance.
- Notifications: to alert riders and owners.
- Network/Internet: to sync duties and pay with the server.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above will reflect the latest version. Significant changes will be communicated in the app or on this page.
11. Contact us
For any privacy questions or requests, contact SmartRestro at hello@smartrestro.pro or visit smartrestro.pro.
Terms of Use
By downloading or using SMR Portal, you agree to use the app lawfully and only for managing your own delivery riders and pay. You are responsible for the accuracy of the pay rules you set and for paying your riders. The app is provided “as is”; while we strive for accurate GPS distance, results may vary with device hardware and signal conditions. SmartRestro is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the app. We may update or discontinue features over time. These terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan.
